Class of 88 - Who is in the Book? Part One

When i originally wrote the book i didnt intend on creating a bibliography of the people, places, or organisations i mentioned during the telling of my personal story. Only recently did i decide to tackle the long drawn out process of documenting the small details which make up the bigger picture. I must be totally honest and admit i probably did miss some details as i compiled the listing over a two day period. The pages became somewhat blurry after a while and i couldn't wait to finish the process...

Freedom to Party - March 1990 - Spot Your Face! Video

Most of you have already heard of the Freedom to Party Campaign of the 1990s. My involvement is also public knowledge so i wont go into that here. What's interesting about this post are the many faces that came to the protest. I took a series of shots on that day and wanted to see if anyone recognised themselves from the photos. I've kept it short and sweet, also added an original Genesis'88 pirate radio ad i recorded in 1989…

DJ Magazine - Class of 88 Excerpt 1997 A

Credit where credit is due the first magazine to publicise Class of 88 book was DJ Magazine (Charles & the boys). This is long before i got a deal with Virgin so its worthy of noting. The lads actually run two stories in two issues which was really cool because i didn't even know if Class of 88 would be published. Nice One Lads...

The Face and ID Magazine were the leading youth orientated journals of the period whose pride of focus was centrally rock, indie and some pop music. This feature came out in 1990 providing a full guide of where to party your socks off in the rest of Europe owing to the fact the government had closed the UK's illegal events circuit down.

Its been a while since i done a mix-tape partly because i cant actually mix and i just don't get the time these days. Of late i been downloading loads of Acid house mixes but some of them seem to feature tunes from later years instead of music from that period. I listen to my ipod everyday so decided to put some mixes together   2am on Thursday morning. When Genesis formed in 1988 it didn't matter whether a DJ could mix or not as most DJs couldn't mix properly anyway. This mix-tape follows that same principle of being governed by the music and not by what the chap is doing with the record decks. No point in complaining about it because i don't give a shite...Lots more to come!!!
