At CommunicAsia 2010 we had the chance to play with the World’s first 14MP Camera phone the Altek Leo which runs on the Android 2.1 Operating system. The company just shared some teaser images few days ago and did not reveal the specifications , price or launch date. But during the event the Altek shared with us all the details of the upcoming Leo smartphone. The device pretty much looks like a Camera with a phone inside as it boasts of 3x Optical Zoom in addition to the 14 Megapixel Sensor The UI is pretty much Android with minor tweaks by Altek. We heard that the company might ship the device with Android 2.2 but the device we tested was
The phone packs a3 .2 inch TFT touchscreen display with 480×800 resolution and 16.7 million colors.

The camera can capture 14 Megapixel photos and 720p HD (1280x720px) video. It features a Xenon flash and AF assist Lamp
At the first glance we could not believe it’s a phone . It looked like a digicam until we saw the Android UI and other phone features.
It also features Wi-Fi (including n) and 3.5G connectivity

Altek Leo Price and Launch Date
The company plans to launch this phone in APAC region mainly China, Hong Kong and Taiwan initially at a estimated price of USD 499 towards the end of the year . The company also has plans for India and other regions !
